Terms of Use

Who we are

Ludea Mentor — “Ludea” from here on — is operated by Tutor Seguro Desenvolvimento de Software Customizável Ltda., registered at Rua Pais Leme, 215, conj. 1713, São Paulo/SP, CEP 05424-150, Brasil, also trading as Tutor Seguro, a company registered in Brazil under company number (CNPJ) 66.845.407/0001-28. Throughout this document, “we” means that company and “you” means the adult who creates and keeps the account.

These Terms apply from September 6, 2026 and correspond to version 2026-09-06, which is the version recorded on your account when you accept.

What Ludea is

Ludea is an AI study tutor for children and teenagers aged 4 to 17, supervised by the adult responsible for them. The child talks to the tutor about schoolwork and curiosities; you, the parent or guardian, configure how it answers, read everything that was said, and get notified when something deserves your attention.

The product has two faces on purpose: the child’s, which is only the conversation, and the parent’s, protected by a PIN. They do not mix. The device handed to the child cannot reach the parent area, cannot see alerts, and cannot change any setting.

Who can create an account

An account may only be created by a person over 18 who is the parent, guardian or legal representative of the child or teenager who will use the app. There is no sign-up by the child and no child login: their profile lives inside your account.

You are responsible for keeping your password and your PIN secret — including from the child. The PIN is what separates the parent area from the rest of the app; if the child knows the PIN, supervision stops existing in practice.

What Ludea is NOT

Artificial intelligence models get things wrong. They can state incorrect information with complete confidence, misread a question, or give an incomplete explanation. Ludea is built to reduce that — questions are routed to different models depending on the subject, and content with formulas gets its own handling — but none of that removes error. Check anything used for a test or an assignment against your child’s school material.

The crisis-signal detection described in the next section is a support feature, not a guarantee. It can miss a serious situation, and it can flag as serious a conversation that was not. It does not watch your child outside Ludea, does not read other apps, and does not monitor the device.

Safety and alerts

Every message passes through two screening layers before it reaches the artificial intelligence model, and the tutor’s reply passes through them again before it reaches the child.

  • The first layer blocks topics inappropriate for the age — sexual content, graphic violence, drugs, hate speech — plus any words you add yourself in the parent area.
  • The second layer looks for signs of distress, suicidal ideation, self-harm, eating disorders and indications of violence suffered. It runs before the block, deliberately: a child who writes that they want to die needs to be met with care, not blocked.
  • Photos are automatically moderated before reaching the tutor. If moderation fails for any reason — a network error, an unexpected response — the image is refused. The default is to refuse, never to allow when in doubt.

When something is identified, you receive an alert with its severity. You choose, in the parent area, which severities produce a notification and through which channel. One exception cannot be configured: a crisis classified as critical always sends you an email, under any setting and on any plan, including with the month’s allowance used up and no active subscription.

What the parent can see

You have access to every conversation of every profile on your account, including those the child deleted from their own list. Deleting, on the child’s side, removes the conversation from their view — not from your history.

The app tells the child this, in plain words, on the very screen where they delete. That transparency is deliberate: a child who later finds out on their own that the app told a half-truth learns to work around supervision — and the product starts producing the opposite of what it promises.

Acceptable use

By using Ludea, you and the people on your account agree not to:

  • Try to bypass the safety layers, the content filters or the usage limits.
  • Use the account for an adult to talk to the tutor while posing as a child, or register as a child someone who is not one.
  • Send photos of other people without permission from those who appear in them, or from whoever is responsible for them.
  • Use the service for illegal activity, to harass anyone, or to produce content that breaks the law.
  • Automate access, resell the service, or share the account with another family.
  • Reverse-engineer the app or try to extract the internal screening lists.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where there is no risk to others, we warn you first and give you time to export whatever you want to keep.

Subscription, allowance and payment

Ludea is sold as an allowance of questions per month, for the whole account. You create as many child profiles as you like on any plan, including the free one, and they share the same allowance. We do not charge per child.

New accounts start with a free trial that has its own allowance. When the trial ends — and at any time when there is no active subscription — the account keeps working on the free plan, with a smaller but real allowance. Nothing is deleted for non-payment.

Subscriptions are sold and charged by Apple, inside the app. Apple processes the payment, not us: we never receive or store a card number. Renewal is automatic until you cancel, and cancelling is done in your iPhone Settings, under Subscriptions — we cannot cancel on your behalf.

Refund requests follow Apple’s policy and are made directly to Apple. When you cancel, you keep the plan until the end of the period already paid for; after that, the account moves to the free plan.

Prices are set in US dollars and converted by Apple into your store’s currency. We may change prices and allowances in future; when we do, we give notice in advance and the change only applies from the next renewal.

Cancelling and your right to change your mind

If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason. Because Apple takes the payment, the request goes to Apple; if you have trouble, write to contato@ludea.com.br and we will help you get it to the right place.

Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep Ludea running, but it depends on third-party services — AI providers, hosting, email delivery and the app stores. There can be downtime, scheduled maintenance and changes to features.

If we are going to discontinue the service, we will give at least 30 days’ notice by email, and provide a way to export the conversations before it closes.

Closing your account

You can delete the account at any time, in the parent area, under Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent: it erases the profiles, every conversation, every message, the alerts, the uploaded images and the registered devices. There is no recovery window and no way to undo it.

Cancelling the subscription does not delete the account, and deleting the account does not cancel the subscription with Apple — they are two different places, and you need to do both if you want both.

Liability

Ludea is a tool to support study and family supervision. You remain responsible for the child, for keeping an eye on them, and for decisions about their education and health.

Nothing in these Terms removes or limits rights that your local consumer law gives you, nor our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Outside those cases, and to the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to what you paid for the service in the 12 months before the event.

We are not liable for content the artificial intelligence generates outside what was expected, provided we kept the safety layers described here running — which does not remove our duty to fix faults when you report them.

Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms. Every version has an identifier, and the version you accepted is recorded on your account. When a change is significant — especially if it affects the processing of your child’s data — we notify you by email and ask for a fresh acceptance inside the app before continuing.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by Brazilian law. This choice does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of the country where you have your habitual residence (Regulation (EC) 593/2008, art. 6). You may bring proceedings in the courts of your own country.
